Sugarcane originated in India about 2000 years before the production of sugar moved westward to the New World, introduced by Christopher Columbus. The first successful sugar Plantation Company in the Hawaiian Islands started in Koloa, Kauai in 1834. Its first harvest in 1837 produced 2 tons of raw sugar and then the discovery of sugarcane expanded to the Hawaiian Islands of Hawaii, Maui, and Oahu. Sugar provided the Hawaiian Islands with a foundation, playing an essential part in bringing the Islands into a cosmopolitan society of today.
Because Hawaiian soil now creates some of the best sugar cane in the world, it is our desire to make it possible for all to enjoy these sweet sensual sugars in a new and exciting way, Swizzle Sticks.
